All is made by Baldwin and expect for the cabinet hinges they are all finished in their oil rubbed bronze. The total delivered price is $1100. The major costs are hinges at about $24 a piece and door knobs at about $60 a piece.

Fastners to the wall were trouble, 1/2 were fixed by a trip to the hardware store, other half by asking for complete replacement fixtures from BAldwin. For example : – most of the trim pieces are held on to the wall brackets by the pressure from allen screws.

I have tried doing a search in the net, looked around at the home center store, etc. For example, a regular passage door knob, no privacy lock, for a Baldwin is about $48 and $9 for the ‘5 year finish guaranteed’ kwikset/schlage.

Nothing fancy or tricky to open it or close it. Lever required. To lock the door, the lever is rotated up, activiating the shoot bolts into the head and the sill, locking the door at 3 points.

For new construction, mid to upper end homes we use Schalge with an upgrade to Emtek (sp?) on exterior doors. Baldwin used to be popular but require some futzing around to get them right and possibly some down the road too.
